We went shopping on Saturday and Sunday for a couple hours which included a trip to the nail salon and a pharmacy run. Both, pretty good days and she said she feels a little human for a change.
She received a phone call today from the surgeon's office advising that her surgery is scheduled for Friday. Between now and then, we will meet with him in clinic, have a regular clinic visit and a pre-op clinic appointment and another day of rehab. Joy tolerated her first day back to rehab today quite well.
This surgery is not the panacea to end all and is not without risk but, we have to trust the doctors medical advice that it is absolutely critical so, we proceed. The surgeon describes her reflux severe enough to cause lethal incidences and worthy of the risk for increasing her chances of survival.

Okay, so now we're back on track.
Delighted to hear that Joy's surgery won't be delayed any longer. Sounds like you two had some fun last weekend-- way to go. Looking forward to more progress reports & more progress too!
Love to all,
Steve & Trina
I've not written for awhile. I've had WAY too much work as well as some fun. Just got back from Myrtle Beach. Daughter, Sherry, is president of the National Rural Electric Development Association who had their national conference there. The president gets a "suite" so my cousin, her daughter and I flew in to "help" Sherry fill up this SIXTEEN HUNDRED SQUARE FOOT suite! It was bigger'n many people's houses! The weather was very, very lovely! Very warm (not hot) during the day and cool at night. And, since we were there, we had spa treatment, swam in the heated pool, walked on the beach and relaxed. I mean, it was HARD work - but someone has to do it. :-)
I hope the surgery goes well. You are both in my prayers.
Love,
Jackie Wilson Rose

Dear Joy
We are praying that the stomach surgery will give you relief from the acid reflux which is so damaging.
Wayne, thank you again for keeping everyone informed of Joy's progress and even the set backs.
Take care both of you.
Love Kitty and Bill
